This Is The New PV5 Exterior Design From Kia, Reafining The Concept Of Space And Mobility

JAKARTA – First unveiled as the PV5 Concept at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2024, Kia opens the exterior design sheath of the PV5 Passenger and Cargo models ahead of the second Kia EV Day which will be held in Tarragona, Spain, later this month.
This medium-sized PV5 is the first model to debut under the new Kia’s global platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) business strategy.
Designed to redefine the concept of space and mobility, PV5 will take advantage of the leading EV Kia technology to meet a wide range of customer needs by providing unprecedented flexibility and adjustments through innovative modularity.
Kia will offer PV5 in several configurations to meet a wide range of customer needs. The Passenger and Cargo models will join other product lines, including a special conversion option to launch on Kia EV Day 2025.
The contemporary design of Kia PV5 surpassed conventional light commercial vehicles, featuring a new aesthetic that emphasizes flexibility and adjustment through modular approaches.
“Although PV5 is offered in three different types to provide innovative solutions for various customer needs, all of them realize consistent design values inspired by Kia’s design philosophy, ‘Opposites United’,” said Head of Kia Global Design Karim Habib, in an official statement received, Tuesday, February 25.
Design Kia PV5 Passengers
The smooth PV5 passenger’s geometric profile features a contemporary look and provides excellent visibility through a large window with a low beltline. The window area of this model is framed by a striking black graphic glass around which contrasts PV5’s body color.
The strong geometric wheel arch cover and rocker panels provide continuity with the Kia SUV lineup and show off-road character, connecting high-tech upper cabins with sturdy bottom bodies.
The back of the PV5 Passengers features a strong and modern PBV character and optimizes functionality. The curved line of D pillars elegantly extends back to increase the impression of a spacious vehicle. The PV5 is also equipped with a single lift-up tailgate door located above the strong bumper that reflects the protective angle at the front.
Design Kia PV5 Cargo
Although PV5 Cargo has the same geometric design as PV5 for Passengers, it has a slimmer profile that reflects increased space efficiency. A clean and modern display with a clear sense of regularity in each element increases its appeal compared to conventional light commercial vehicles.
The main difference lies in the side opening on both sides which provides optimal practicality and easy access to loading and unloading so that users can adjust it to meet their needs specifically.
